Neutrogena Pitch Work
I love working on pitches. It’s one of the few times where the idea is always king—and budgets be damned! Here we were answering a RFP for Neutrogena’s digital account. We were tasked with two things: 1) positioning the brand’s makeup remover and Deep Clean gentle scrub products ahead of a global skincare trend and 2) updating their overall look to attract the coveted 16-24 female target. That led us to focus on women, their best friend, and how they bring the best out of one another.
As the design lead, my goal was not to abandon the look that the brand was known for: clean, classic, with uses of white and splashes of water. What I wanted to do was help the brand be more approachable for the younger target, so I used a modern font for headlines, more saturated colors, fun geometric patterns, and playful “in the moment” photography.
In the end, we didn’t win the pitch, but we produced some great work and thinking.
